daily mile tracks

Ready... steady... go! Our daily mile tracks encourage children to get active every day, whatever the weather.

let us make your daily mile easier

Schools across the UK have been embracing The Daily Mile Initiative, which encourages children to run, walk, or jog a mile every school day.

It's been shown to have some amazing benefits so far, including improved cognitive health and wellbeing; however many schools can also find the initiative a challenge to accommodate on their site.

Our Daily Mile Tracks are the perfect solution, and can also be a wonderful use of your school's PE and Sports Premium Funding.

Tracks can be constructed using a variety of different surfaces, they're fun to run on no matter the season and can be placed around your existing play areas.

what our customers say

"Thanks so much –we are really pleased with the final product – the extra sand and the ‘buffing’ has really tightened up the surface and it looks great. The children are each running a mile to mark its opening!"

all-weather running tracks

School playing fields are not always suitable to run on during wet weather. Our Daily Mile Tracks are a wonderful alternative, they are comfortable to run on, usable even on rainy days, and are available in a selection of surfacing options. These include:

  • Just Like Grass
  • Rubber Mulch
  • Play Grass
  • Resin Bound Gravel
  • Hoggin

panels and activity stations

For even more opportunities for active play, why not look at adding stations to your Daily Mile Track?

Stations or arenas are areas where children can take a pause from running to enjoy child-led fitness activities, from using timber steps to practising yoga poses.

We can also supply panels to enhance your pupil's daily mile experience. Children love keeping track of their progress with an interactive lap counter, timing themselves, and dashing past finishing banners.

what to expect from us

The dbd experience starts with an initial discussion where we aim to understand your aims for your new playground. This is followed by a site visit so we can get an accurate picture of your outside space.

Within 2-3 weeks, our incredible designers can use this information to create a proposal for your dream playground.

This includes a 3D tour of the proposed design (great for showing off to parents and governors) and a detailed breakdown of each cost.

We’ll keep consulting with you and making tweaks until you’re completely happy with the plan. Then, then the operations and build team spring into action. They'll check we have all the parts we need to create your playground and install it on-site.

Whatever the age group of your pupils, you want to ensure that everyone on your school grounds is a trusted professional. That's why each member of our installation team is DBS checked  and understands how to work around a school day to cause minimal disruption.
